Scarborough W1s team clinched promotion in dramatic fashion, finishing in the top two of their league after a thrilling 2-1 victory over Harrogate W3s in their final game of the season.

With the possibility of promotion on the line, Scarborough stepped onto the pitch determined and well-prepared. They applied immense pressure from the start, dominating possession and camping inside Harrogate’s D in search of the opening goal.

Despite Scarborough’s attacking intensity, Harrogate’s goalkeeper put in a brilliant performance, denying multiple goal-scoring opportunities. However, Carla Zimmerman found a breakthrough with a dazzling run along the baseline, delivering a perfect pass to the P-spot where Kathryn Brumby was waiting to slam the ball into the back of the net - Scarborough had their much-deserved lead!
